Writer’s cramp along with a major new source of information has postponed my blogging in the last few days. Recently I have come across a visionary from Ireland whose calls herself “Maria of Divine Mercy.” She has an online web site that can be reached at www.thewarningsecondcoming.com and a long list of videos that can be found at www.thewarningsecondcoming.com/videos-messag . The messages given to her are essentially the same as the messages given to Barnabas with this Precious Blood devotion. I encourage all to go to read her messages. I have literally sat here in my free time for several hours at at time reading the contents of these messages. I encourage all to read about the Seal of the Living God, this is one of many of the same themes of the Precious Blood messages. If my blog is developing too slowly for some, please go the Maria of Divine Mercy as well.
The Holy Mass is for Catholics “the source and summit” of our religious lives. In the Mass we re-present to the Father the same sacrifice as Jesus offered on Calvary. Any understanding of the Mass without reference to this sacrifice to Jesus is horribly inadequate. We offer to the Father the sacrifice He wishes to receive from us through Jesus.
As we experience the Mass, there are varied parts to help us in our worship. We stand, sit and kneel at appropriate times. We sing, pray aloud, listen to the priest, and hopefully observe some silence. The Holy Mass is the perfect prayer. The Catholic Church also has a liturgy which is prayed outside the Mass called the Liturgy of the Hours. These are a collection of psalms, readings, petitions, and other prayers. The psalms were originally songs used by David and the Jewish people in their worship. Monastic prayer still sings the psalms as part of Divine worship. There is a rhythm of sung and spoken prayer here too.
With the Precious Blood devotion, there is this same harmonious rhythm of both sung and spoken prayer that is found in the Mass and in the Liturgy of the Hours. There are hymns and prayers that form a beautiful balance as we pray. I refer all to Patricia Fason’s web site at: www.PreciousBloodInternational.com for ordering a Precious Blood prayer book. The small books cost around $4.00 and the large print around $8.00.
At Fatima a new prayer was added to the Rosary by our Blessed Mother: “Oh My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.” With the Precious Blood devotion Barnabas received short new verses to sing between the mysteries. He also received a prayer to St. Michael the Archangel which I love. “St. Michael the Archangel, with your light, enlighten us. With your wings, protect us. With your sword, defend us.” To hear these verses in song and to pray the rosary with the additional prayer to St. Michael these are used at the beginning of the Gethsemane hour on Thursdays beginning at 11:00 pm and lasting until 3:00 am on Friday Eastern Standard Time.
